Auditions for BLACK SANTA by Aaron Mays

When?   Monday, September 9th 2024
               10:00am - 8:00pm (Lunch 1:00p - 3:00p)

Where? Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts
                         1300 Biscayne Blvd Miami, FL 33132
                Burns Green Room
                         (Knight Concert Hall, enter by valet ramp on NE 14th Street between
                         Biscayne Blvd and Bayshore Drive. You will go through security)

Parking: Metered street parking is located around the center.

Roles:

*PATRICE PATTERSON: a third grade teacher. African American, female, mid 30s to 

early 40s.

PRINCIPAL SYLVIA WARD: interim headmaster of Dartmouth Day School. Female, 

mid 40s.

GABRIEL SPENCER: an art teacher. Bi-racial (of Middle Eastern descent but racially 

ambiguous), male, mid to late 20s.

FRANK: a seventh grade teacher. Male, early 40s. 

SYDNEY: a kindergarten teacher. Female, early 30s.

JOHNNIE LEE PATTERSON: Patrice’s dad. African American, male, mid 60s.

 * the role of Patrice  Patterson has already been cast

CALLBACKS ARE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY : Monday, September 16th 4p - 8p 

You will be notified by end of day Friday, Sept 13th if your presence is requested at callbacks on Monday, September 16th.

Upon receipt of your submission and review, you will receive an audition time.

 Audition Requirments:
           2 contemporary monologues, contrasting in nature (not to exceed 3 minutes combined)
           1 joke

Additional Information
First Rehearsal: November 14th  (rehearsal days are 7hrs, usually between 10:00a - 7:00p)
Technical Rehearsals: December 3 and 4 (8 out of 10's)
First Preview: December 5
Opening: December 6
(Shows are Wednesdays - Sundays)
Closing: December 22
